Flu Season is in full force; protect yourself. This year's flu season has been very active, with communities across the nation experiencing widespread activity, and we are still in the midst of the cold and winter season. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says "Take 3" actions to protect yourself and others from influenza.
      1. Take Time to get the flu vaccine. The flu vaccine can reduce flu illnesses, doctor's visits and missed work and school due to having the flu.
      2. Take everyday preventative actions to stop the spread of germs. Try to avoid close contact with sick people. Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
      3. Take flu antiviral drugs if your doctor prescribes them. If you get the flu, antiviral drugs can be used to treat your illness. People who have the flu often feel some or all of these symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, and headaches.

Top Money Conversations:
Your Money, Your Goals cover a wide range of topics. These "top money conversations" cover some of the most important financial issues the people we serve may be facing.

Do you have goals for yourself and your family? Are they goals you want to reach soon or in the next few years? How do you plan to reach them?

  1. Brainstorm a list of hope, needs, wants, and dreams and determine whether they are short-term or long-term.
  2. Turn those hopes, needs, wants, and dreams to SMART goals: Focus on your listening skills or positive self-talk, be realistic about your goals, move in the direction of your values, dreams, and ambitions, and set a date for the accomplishment of the first (2) goals.

Create a chart the like the one below:

  • Short Term: What I want to achieve for myself or my family:
  • Long-Term: What I want to achieve for myself or my family that will take more than six months:
